Mogorella stands at the foot of Mount Grighine, where it is possible to admire the splendid scenery, characterized by the typical Mediterranean scrub, among lentisks, strawberry trees, ilexes, corks, durmasts and myrtle.

The remains of seven nuraghs found in Mogorella area, such as Luas and Fenogu nuraghs and Su Friarosu protonuragh, have a very high value from an archaeological point of view.

Su Friarosu protonuragh stands on a calcareous plateau a bit before the entrance of the village. It represents the link between simple protonuraghs and the more evolved “a tholos” typology. In the opinion of eminent scholars it can be classified according to the period which goes by the ancient to the middle bronze, that is the most ancient phase of nuraghic civilization; it is structured like a corridor, in white limestone.

Mogorella historic centre has maintained the traditional order: along the streets there appear houses in not-plastered stone, with their porticos (sa lolla), surrounded by big courts closed by picturesque portals.

St. Lawrence’s Church stands on a hill in the entrance of the village. It has an Aragonese Gothic façade in pink trachyte, which goes back to the sixteenth century.

St. Lawrence, Mogorella Patron Saint, is celebrated twice a year. Firstly, the 20^th of May there is a procession in his honour, with a parade of folkloristic groups and horsemen; in concomitance there is also the Festival of the sheep, with typical dishes and local wines tasting. The second celebration of St. Lawrence takes place by the 9^th and the 11^th of August, with folkloristic groups traditional dances and songs.
